Federico García Capurro

Federico García Capurro (born February 25, 1907 in Montevideo , † 2000 ) was a Uruguayan radiologist and politician .

The physician García Capurro, who belonged to the Partido Colorado , held a mandate as deputy senator in the Cámara de Senadores in the 34th legislative period from March 2, 1943 to February 10, 1947 . From 1952 to 1954 he held the office of Minister of Health of Uruguay. From June 17, 1968 to March 10, 1970, García Capurro, who had a doctorate, headed the Ministry of Education and Culture. From April 2, 1971 to March 1, 1972 he was Minister of Defense of Uruguay. At the same time, from October 28, 1971 to February 10, 1972, he also held the office of Minister of Transport , who was also responsible for communications and tourism matters .
