Wilson Elso Goñi

Wilson Elso Goñi (born July 16, 1938 in Sarandí del Yí , † July 1, 2009 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Goñi, of the Partido Nacional belonged to and in connection with the Movimiento Correntada Wilson Ista Senator Francisco Gallinal was had, first in the 39th legislative period from 15 August 1963 to 14 February 1967 deputy parliamentary mandate for the Department of Treinta y Tres in the Cámara de Representantes . In the 41st legislative period he was elected representative of the people for this department from February 15, 1972 to June 27, 1973. He was then elected to the Senate for the 43rd electoral term (February 15, 1990 - February 14, 1995) . At the same time, he headed the Ministry of Transport and Public Works during Luis Alberto Lacalle's reign from March 1, 1990 to March 12, 1993 . In the course of his political career he was director of Treinta y Tres for two terms from 1985 to 1990 and 2000 to 2005 . When he was also re-elected for this position in the 1989 elections, however, he decided to exercise his senatorial mandate, which he had also won.
