Departments in Uruguay
Departamentos in Uruguay names the 19 departments of the State of Uruguay ( departamentos , singular - departamento ).
- Artigas, with the capital Artigas , was founded in 1884 as part of the Salto department and is the only department that borders Argentina in the west and Brazil in the north and east.
- Canelones, with the capital Canelones, is one of the six departments originally founded in 1816. The original name was Villa de Guadalupe .
