Trinidad is a city in southwest Uruguay .
geography
Trinidad is the capital of the Flores department . It is located in the center of this department in its sector 1 .
history
The city of Trinidad existed before a church was built. A group of people lived here who did not own any land and who did not have permanent residence. There is no exact founding date of "Santísima Trinidad de los Porongos" because the city had a very long development process. In 1904, however, it was decided that the founding date was July 18, 1804.
On December 30, 1885, Trinidad received the Ley No. 854 the status of a Ciudad (city).

In terms of transport infrastructure, the city is accessed via the Ruta 3 running through it , which meets the Ruta 14 on site .

The economy is mainly shaped by agriculture and the agro-industry.
Residents
The population of Trinidad is 21,429 (as of 2011), of which 10,378 male and 11,051 female. It is by far the largest city in the department in this regard, as it is home to around 80% of the entire population.
