Baselga di Piné (German Wasilig-Pineid ) is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5087 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Trento in the Trentino-South Tyrol region .
geography
The municipality is located about 11.5 kilometers northeast of Trento and is part of the valley community Comunità Alta Valsugana e Bersntol . The Lago di Serraia and partially the Lago delle Piazze are located in the municipality .
Part of the municipality belongs to the Laghestel di Piné nature reserve .
history
The place is first mentioned in a document in 1160. Until the 15th century the place was mostly German-speaking.
