Cavareno (in the Nones dialect: Ciavaren ) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1107 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in Trentino in the Trentino-South Tyrol region . The municipality is located about 38 kilometers north of Trento in the Non Valley and belongs to the valley community Comunità della Val di Non .

In 1174, “Cauareno” was first mentioned in the traditional notes of the Augustinian canons of San Michele all'Adige .
