Pomarolo is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 2468 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Trento in Trentino-South Tyrol . The municipality is located about 13 kilometers south-southwest of Trento in Vallagarina . The Etsch forms the southeastern municipal boundary.

history

The strategically favorable location suggests that the area was already settled in Roman antiquity. The former village on the Adige was in 1136 by Lothar III. destroyed. Occasionally occupied by the Republic of Venice , the village was again destroyed by Maximilian I in 1508 .

Economy and Transport

The A22 autostrada runs through the municipality from Modena to the Brenner Pass .
