Canal San Bovo (German outdated: Canal St. Buf ) is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1477 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in Trentino in the Trentino-South Tyrol region .
geography
The scattered community is located about 49 kilometers east-northeast of Trento in the Valle del Vanoi and belongs to the valley community Comunità di Primiero . It borders directly on the province of Belluno ( Veneto ). The Parco Naturale Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino covers parts of the municipality. Neighboring municipalities are Castello Tesino , Cinte Tesino , Imer , Mezzano , Pieve Tesino , Predazzo , Primiero San Martino di Castrozza and Ziano di Fiemme in Trentino and the two municipalities of Lamon and Sovramonte in the province of Belluno.
Administrative division
The municipality has seven fractions : Canale, Caoria, Gobbera, Ronco, Prade, Zortea and Gobbera. The municipality is located in the Canale district.
Partnerships
Canal San Bovo maintains an intra-Italian partnership with the municipality of Civitella Alfedena in the province of L'Aquila .
