Borgo d'Anaunia is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Trento , region of Trentino-Alto Adige . It belongs to the valley community Comunità della Val di Non .

geography

The scattering community is located in the upper Non Valley ( Italian Val di Non ) at about 1000  m slm northeast of the Santa Giustina Dam and about 41 kilometers north of Trento . It borders directly on the province of Bolzano - South Tyrol and has an area of ​​63.23 km².

history

The municipality was formed on January 1, 2020 from the previously independent municipalities Fondo , Castelfondo and Malosco . The administrative center of the municipality is in Fondo.

Tourism and geography

In terms of tourism, the area is a starting point for mountain tours on the Mendelkamm and the Brenta Group , but also in the Ortler massif to the west .

Between Fondo and Castelfondo is the valley of the Rio Novella, coming from Our Lady in the Forest and St. Felix , which rises at the Gampenpass . The Roggia di Fondo flows through the village.
