Pieve Tesino (German outdated: Tesin ) is a Trentino municipality in the Trentino-South Tyrol region with 637 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
geography
The village is located 38 km east of Trento in Tesino ( Bassa Valsugana Tesino e ), a Untertal the Valsugana , on the rivers Grigno and Solcena . It is part of the valley community Comunità Valsugana e Tesino and is located on the Roman road Via Claudia Augusta .
The main town is divided into four sub-districts ( called Colmelli ): Angara , Broccati , Grotto and Riba .

history
The first settlements, discovered in 1882, date from the Bronze Age . Due to the proximity to the Roman road Via Claudia Augusta, they were built around 50 BC. Settlements and castles in the area. Here the place belonged to the Regio X Venetia et Histria (10th Region Veneto and Istria ) of the Regioni dell'Italia Augustea . The eponymous pieve was created around 125, but is no longer available today. Since 750 the place was under the Bishop of Feltre . Pieve was known for its wandering traders who - first with flint stones , then with copperplate engravings , mostly of saints - crossed all of Europe, especially in the late 18th century, and founded numerous trading establishments there. Italy's long-time Prime Minister Alcide De Gasperi was born in Pieve Tesino in 1881, when the area was still part of Austria-Hungary .

- Pieve dell'Assunta , an older church consecrated in 1184 and restored in 1872, shows frescoes from the 16th century on the outside (south side) .
- Pieve di San Sebastiano on the hill of Colle di San Sebastiano , actually Chiesa dei Ss. Fabiano e Sebastiano , church built in 1479 and restored in 1883.
- Museo Casa De Gasperi : The Italian state has awarded the house where he was born, which has housed a museum since August 18, 2006, with the European Heritage Label . The opening speeches for the inauguration of the museum were given by Giulio Andreotti and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi , among others .
