Besenello (German outdated Pysein or Bisein ) is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2709 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Trento in Trentino-South Tyrol .

The municipality is located about 14 kilometers south of Trento in Vallagarina on the Adige .

The place has been documented as a Besenum since 1172 . The Castel Beseno also dates from the 12th century .

Besenello is a wine-growing region. The Strada Statale 12 dell'Abetone e del Brennero leads through the municipality from Pisa to the Brenner Pass , from which the Strada Statale 350 di Folgaria e di Val d'Astico goes towards Schio .
