Matteo Anesi (born August 16, 1984 in Baselga di Pinè ) is an Italian speed skater and Olympic champion .

Matteo Anesi is an all-rounder who can run all distances from 500 to 10,000 meters. But he has specialized more in long and medium-haul routes. The greatest success of his career was participating in the 2006 Olympic Games in his Italian homeland in Turin . He finished 29th on the 1500 meter course and won the gold medal in the team run with Stefano Donagrandi , Enrico Fabris and Ippolito Sanfratello . He was able to win the silver medal with the Italian team at the World Championships in Inzell . In his individual starts in the world championships, he has always placed 20th.

Anesi took part in all all-around European championships since 2003 and always placed between places 18 and 12. In the World Cup he made his debut in February 2003 in Baselga di Pinè and was 13th over 1500 meters in the B group. So far he has not been able to place in the top 10 on individual routes, he has only been successful in the World Cup in the team. In 2006 and 2007 he was Italian runner-up in the all-around competition behind the superstar Enrico Fabris.
