Sindre Henriksen (born July 24, 1992 ) is a Norwegian speed skater .

Career

Henriksen started the World Cup for the first time in November 2015 in Calgary and took ninth place over 1000 m, sixth place over 5000 m and third place over 1500 m in group B. In the further course of the season he reached his first podium in the World Cup with second place in the team pursuit in Inzell and Heerenveen . In January 2016, he was eighth in the four-way competition at the European all- around championships in Minsk . At the individual distance world championships in Kolomna in 2016 , he achieved seventh place over 1500 m. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he became Norwegian champion over 1500 m in Bjugn . In the further course of the season he took his first World Cup victory in the team pursuit in Heerenveen and took second place in the team pursuit in Harbin and Stavanger . In January 2017 he came in eighth place in the four-way competition at the European all- around championship in Heerenveen, as in the previous year. At the 2017 World Individual Distance Championships in Gangwon , he won the bronze medal in the team pursuit. He also achieved 20th place over 1000 m and 1500 m there. In the following season he finished second in the team pursuit in Heerenveen and third in the 1500 m in Stavanger. At the highlight of the season, the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in February 2018 , he won the gold medal in the team pursuit and came seventh in the 1500 m run.

In the 2018/19 season, Henriksen was second in the team pursuit in Tomaszów Mazowiecki and achieved tenth place in the overall World Cup over 1500 m with three top ten placements over 1500 m. At the European all- around championship in January 2019 in Klobenstein , he came fourth in the four-way competition. At the individual distance world championships in 2019 in Inzell , he won the silver medal in the team pursuit and also achieved 13th place over 1500 m. In early March 2019, he finished sixth at the 2019 All Around World Championships in Calgary .
