Klobenstein ( Italian Collalbo ) is the capital of the municipality of Ritten in South Tyrol ( Italy ). The village is about 1150  m above sea level on the Renon . The Klobenstein fraction also includes Lengmoos, which is directly to the east and in which the parish church Maria Himmelfahrt is located and in the adjacent Kommende Lengmoos the most famous cultural event location of the fraction (and community) is located.

history

The district of Lengmoos has been the seat of a Teutonic Order since the 13th century , which is part of the Ballei on the Etsch and originally performed important supply functions along the Brennerstraße that ran over the Renon . In 1308 the location of Lengmoos is referred to as "Lengemos" in a document from the Heiliggeistspital Bozen , which was wealthy here .

Sports

At the entrance to the village is the sports zone operated by Ritten Sport with the ice ring, the Ritten arena, the soccer field and several tennis courts. The municipality has leased the adjacent outdoor swimming pool to a private company. Recurring sporting events include various speed skating competitions on the ice ring and the games of the Ritten Sport club in the top ice hockey league.

The Renon Summer Games take place every summer in the Kommende Lengmoos, with concerts in between.

In addition to the parish church in Lengmoos, there is also the St. Antonius church in Klobenstein. The Renon summer houses of the Bolzano patricians and aristocrats were built in Klobenstein, Oberbozen and Maria Himmelfahrt from the 17th century . So spent z. Klobenstein can be reached from Bolzano via state road 73, which was first laid out in the 1960s. The Renon Railway ends in Klobenstein.

education

In Klobenstein there is a kindergarten, a primary school, a middle school and a music school. The schools in the community are combined to form a school district, which is based in the village. The kindergarten belongs to the Bolzano district and the music school belongs to the Ritten / Sarntal music school of the Institute for Music Education.
