Kari Manninen (born April 17, 1976 ) is a former Finnish Nordic combined athlete who started for the Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura club while he was active .

Career

Kari Manninen appears for the first time in the 1993/94 season in the overall World Cup of the Nordic Combined World Cup . He finished the season in 66th place with a total of 9 points. On December 14, 1996 he was used in the B World Cup at the competition in Vuokatti , home. He was able to secure victory in front of the Russian Valeri Stoljarow and his compatriot Tapio Nurmela . At the World Cup in Oberwiesenthal, he was among the top 15 in the Nordic Combined World Cup for the first time. He finished the sprint competition in 12th place and was able to collect a total of 42 World Cup points. In the 1996/97 World Cup season , he collected a total of 235 points, placing him 33rd in the overall World Cup.

Kari Manninen had his best season in the 1998/99 season . After he finished second behind Jaakko Tallus at the B World Cup in Vuokatti on December 12, 1998 , he achieved his best World Cup result on March 6, 1999 at the World Cup in Lahti, his home town . With eleventh place, he just missed a place in the top 10. At the end of the season he finished 32nd in the overall World Cup with 294 points.
