In the following years, Stolyarov took part primarily in competitions of the B World Cup, where he was able to achieve his first podium placement on February 10, 1996 in Schonach . In December 1996 he achieved his first victory in the B World Cup in Rovaniemi . Due to his good performance, he was taken back to the national team for the World Cup a short time later. With a few placements among the top ten, he was able to rank ninth in the overall World Cup at the end of the season.
In February 1988 Stolyarov took part in the Winter Olympics in Nagano . In the Gundersen competition , he temporarily took second place on the normal hill with jumps on 92.5 and 89.5 meters. After he presented himself in excellent shape over 15 km of cross-country skiing, he surprisingly won the bronze medal behind Bjarte Engen Vik and Samppa Lajunen .
At the 1999 World Championships in Ramsau , he took third place in the team competition. After that, Stolyarov could no longer build on his top performances and usually only competed in the second-rate B World Cup. Nevertheless, he took part in the 2001 World Championships in Lahti , where he found himself only in the back of the ranks. He ended his career after the 2001/02 season.
After the end of his career, Stolyarov opened a sporting goods store in St. Petersburg . He is married and has a daughter.
