Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 1991
The 24th Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1991 took place from 6 to 10 March 1991 in Reit im Winkl , Bavaria . After 1971 ( Nesselwang ) and 1981 ( Schonach in the Black Forest ), Germany was the organizer of this most important junior competition in Nordic skiing for the third time.
The most successful nation in the competitions was Norway with five gold medals, and one silver and one bronze medal, ahead of Czechoslovakia with three gold and silver medals each. The newly united Germany and Austria won the other two gold medals. The most successful athletes were the Norwegian cross-country skier Thomas Alsgaard and the Czechoslovakian Milan Kučera , who not only won the two Nordic Combined competitions, but also the team competition for special jumpers, each with three gold medals.
Competition venues
The ski jumping competitions and the Nordic combined jumping were held on the K-70 hill of the Reit-im-Winkl-Schanzen . The cross-country skiing competitions for specialists and combiners took place on the trails in the area.
