Milan Kučera (born June 18, 1974 in Jilemnice ) is a former Czechoslovak or Czech Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Milan Kučera participated in international competitions for Dukla Liberec from 1990 to 2002. At the Junior World Championship in 1990 in Štrbské Pleso , he won the silver medal in the team competition with the Czechoslovak team. A year later he took part in the Junior World Championships in 1991 in Reit im Winkl and was used in addition to his assignments in the Nordic combined (individual and team) also in the Czechoslovak team of special jumpers. He won all three competitions and was, together with the Norwegian cross-country skier Thomas Alsgaard, the most successful athlete in the championships. He made his debut on January 11, 1992 in Breitenwang in the Nordic Combined World Cup and achieved a podium directly with a third place. In the following years further competitions followed regularly; He achieved further podium places in the World Cup with a third place in Schonach on January 3, 1998 and with a victory in Chaux-Neuve on January 18, 1998.

His last competition start was in February 2002 as part of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City .

Kučera now lives in Harrachov .
