Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2003

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 36th Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2003 took place from March 28 to April 1, 1990 in Sollefteå, Sweden . After 1969 ( Bollnäs ), 1980 ( Örnsköldsvik ) and 1995 ( Gällivare ) , Sweden was the host of this most important junior competition in Nordic skiing for the fourth time.

The most successful nation in the competitions was Russia with four gold, two silver and four bronze medals, ahead of Germany with four gold and one bronze medal and Norway with two gold, three silver and three bronze medals. While the Russians won all medals in cross-country skiing, the Germans won three of their four gold medals in Nordic combined.

Competition venues

The ski jumping competitions and the Nordic combined jumping were held on the Hallstabacken , which was built for the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1934 . The cross-country competitions of the combiners and the specialists were held on trails in the area.
