Skopek, who has been practicing Nordic skiing since he was seven, made his international debut at FIS races in 2002. In January 2003 he competed for the first time in the B-World Cup of Nordic Combined. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Rovaniemi , he won the bronze medal with the team after rather mediocre placements in 2003 and 2004. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Kranj , he was able to improve his performance in the individual disciplines and only just missed placements among the top ten. In the team competition he reached 6th place with the team. On January 14, 2007 he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Lago di Tesero . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , Japan , Skopek came in 33rd place in the sprint. In Gundersen he reached 46th place and seventh place with the team. He ended the 2007/08 season tied with Italian Giuseppe Michielli in 63rd place in the overall World Cup standings. In the 2008/09 season he only started five World Cup competitions. However, he was unsuccessful. After participating in the 2009 Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec , where he finished 41st in the mass start, he ended his active career.
