Britta Johansson Norgren (born March 30, 1983 in Bälinge , Uppsala municipality ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Britta Johansson Norgren lives in Östersund and starts for Sollefteaa SK . In 2001 she made her debut in Garphyttan over 5 kilometers as 22nd in an FIS race. At the Junior World Championships in Schonach , she was tenth in the sprint. In November 2002 she won her first race with an FIS sprint in Tynderoe . At the Junior World Championships 2003 in Sollefteå , she reached eighth place in the sprint and 25th place over 5 kilometers. Towards the end of the season she was used in Borlaenge for the first time in a World Cup sprint and was 29. At the national championships in 2004 in Skellefteå , she won the silver medal behind Emelie Öhrstig in the sprint . After a long period of weakness, Johansson Norgren was again used more frequently in the World Cup in the 2005/06 season and also qualified for the Olympic Games in Turin . Here she was 15th in the pursuit, eleventh in the ten-kilometer race, fourth in the relay, 13th in the sprint and 28th in the 30-kilometer race. After the games she reached the first podium finish with a third place at the World Cup in Sapporo with Anna-Karin Strömstedt in the team sprint. At the end of the season, she won the sprint title in the national championships and was second over 10 kilometers and fourth over 30 kilometers.

At the beginning of the 2006/07 season she was second in the Düsseldorf team sprint . The placement she achieved again with the relay in La Clusaz . In Davos , shortly before the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2007 , she won her first World Cup race with the Swedish relay. But she missed a medal both with the relay and in the team sprint at the World Cup in Sapporo, Japan, when she finished fourth. In the sprint she was 26th, in the pursuit over 15 kilometers 27th and in the mass start race over 30 kilometers she came in 32nd. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season she won a World Cup team sprint together with Charlotte Kalla in Düsseldorf . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , Norgren was given a five-day protection ban because of an excessive hemoglobin level . Nevertheless, she won the bronze medal with the Swedish cross-country relay. In the sprint, she retired as 38th in the qualification. The 52nd place in the 15 km pursuit race and 29th place over 10 km freestyle she reached at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she won silver with the relay and was 31st in the mass start race over 30 kilometers. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she reached 39th place in the 15 km skiathlon and 14th place in the sprint. In March 2014 she took second place in the Wasalauf and third place in the Årefjällsloppet . In the 2014/15 season she won the König-Ludwig-Lauf and came second in the Wasalauf. At the end of the season she was third in the overall ranking of the Ski Classics. The following season she won the Jizera Mountains Run , La Diagonela , Marcialonga and Toblach – Cortina . She was also runner- up at La Sgambeda and at the Wasalauf and won the overall ranking of the Ski Classics. In the summer of 2016, she triumphed in the Rollerski World Cup in Sollefteå in the 16 km mass start race and the 18 km freestyle. After finishing in the Ski Classics prologue race in Pontresina , she won La Sgambeda, Wasalauf and Årefjällsloppet. In addition, as in the previous year, she won the Tjejvasan . At the Kaiser Maximilian Run she was third and second at La Diagonela, Marcialonga, Toblach – Cortina, Jizera Mountains, Birkebeinerrennet and Ylläs – Levi , winning the overall Ski Classics ranking again. In April 2017 she won the Fossavatn Ski Marathon over 50 km classic. In the 2017/18 season she triumphed at La Sgambeda, Kaiser-Maximilian-Lauf, La Diagonela, Marcialonga, Toblach-Cortina and the Isergebirgslauf. She was also runner-up at Ylläs-Levi and Tjejvasan and won the overall Ski Classics ranking for the third time in a row .

In the following season, Norgren triumphed at the prologue in Livigno over 28 km classic, at the Kaiser-Maximilian-Lauf , Marcialonga and the Wasalauf. She came second at the Birkebeinerrennet and third at La Diagonela , Isergebirgslauf , Engadin Skimarathon and Ylläs-Levi, again winning the overall Ski Classics ranking. After first place at the prologue in Livigno at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, she was at the La Venosta and Kaiser-Maximilian-Lauf. This was followed by victories in the Toblach – Cortina and Jizera Mountains Run and second place in the Wasal Run. She also won the Tjejvasan again and, at the end of the season, the overall ranking of the Ski Classics.
