Michael Hollenstein (born September 22, 1984 in Wetzikon ) is a former Swiss Nordic combined athlete .

Hollenstein made his international debut in 2002 at the Junior World Championships in Schonach . He reached 10th place with the team and 38th place in Gundersen. From January 2003 he started in the B-World Cup of Nordic Combined. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå , he and the team just missed the medal ranks with fourth place. In the sprint he achieved 19th place, in Gundersen 40th place. At the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Stryn , Norway , he was ninth with the Swiss team, in the Gundersen competition he finished 16th and in the sprint 32nd place. On December 30, 2004, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Oberhof . On January 29, 2005 he succeeded in winning World Cup points for the first time in Sapporo . Since he could not maintain this level of performance, however, he continued to start firmly in the B World Cup. After he was able to improve his performance there, however, he started in January 2008 in the senior national team and thus in the World Cup. After winning a few points, he finished the 2007/08 season in 46th place in the overall World Cup standings. In the Sprint World Cup overall ranking, he reached 42nd place. However, he was unable to achieve this again, which is why he was transferred back to the B-squad from 2009 and started in the Continental Cup from January 2009. He ended his career after the 2009/10 season.
