Jelena Andrejewna Plozkaja ( Russian Елена Андреевна Плоцкая , sometimes Плотская ; born September 14, 1983 in Krasnoturjinsk ) is a Russian biathlete .

Jelena Plozkaja began her career as a long-tailed woman. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå , she won the bronze medal over 5 kilometers in the classic technique and the gold medal with the Russian relay.

She later switched to biathlon and competed in her first international races in 2008 on the routes of Cesana San Sicario in the Biathlon European Cup . As 19th in a sprint and 20th in a pursuit, she immediately won points. She also successfully took part in the roller ski - IBU Summer Cup 2009 in Ostrow . In the sprint, she only had to admit defeat to the winner Marija Kosinova and relegated the later multiple European champion Olga Prokopjewa to third place. She did not finish the pursuit after falling behind in the second attempt with four shooting errors.
