Marija Valerjewna Kossinowa ( Russian Мария Валерьевна Косинова , scientific transliteration Marija Valer'evna Kosinova ; born September 22, 1984 in Belorezk , Republic of Bashkortostan ) is a Russian biathlete .

Marija Kosinova started biathlon in 1998. She is studying law at the Legal Institute of the Ministry of Interior of Russia in Ufa with the professional goal of being a public prosecutor .

Marija Kosinova made her first international appearance at the Junior World Championships in 2002 in Ridnaun ; she started in all four competitions. In the individual, she had to give up, she finished sprint and pursuit in ninth and tenth and won the silver medal with the Russian relay. The following year in Kościelisko , she won three titles in sprint, pursuit and relay. In 2005 in Kontiolahti she could only defend the season title. In the individual she was runner- up by Anne Preussler , fourth in the sprint and third in the pursuit behind Anna Bulygina and Magdalena Neuner . In the European Cup, Kosinova started regularly in 2003, first as a junior and then among the active players. As a junior, she won the pursuit in Ridnaun in 2005, ahead of Kathrin Hitzer , as well as a relay race. Another five second and three third places in 19 top ten placements in 27 starts show the statistics between 2003 and 2007 for them.

Summer biathlon

At the Summer Biathlon World Championships in 2008 Kosinova was third in the roller ski sprint behind Teja Gregorin and Marie-Laure Brunet , the pursuit she finished fifth. With the season she missed another medal as fourth.
