Teja Gregorin (born June 29, 1980 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian biathlete .
Teja Gregorin has been practicing biathlon since 2002 and has been part of the Slovenian national biathlon team since then. She is trained by Tomáš Kos and starts for ŠD Nika Ihan . The student lives in Ihan . Since the beginning of the 2003/04 season in Kontiolahti , she has been competing in the Biathlon World Cup . From the middle of the 2004/05 season she could regularly achieve good placements in the points. She came in fourth twice so far, but it was not enough for a place in the top 3.
At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , she took part in all five biathlon races and placed between 14th and 19th place. With the relay, she was sixth. In 2008 Gregorin became double world champion in sprint and pursuit at the 2008 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Haute Maurienne. Her greatest success so far in winter was at the 2009 World Championships in Pyeongchang , South Korea , where she won the silver medal in the individual race over 15 km by finishing second behind Kati Wilhelm and ahead of Tora Berger . The Slovenian Championships in biathlon in 2010 won the title of Gregorin ladies.
Teja Gregorin took part in all five competitions of the biathlon competition at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and was placed in the top ten four times. Her best result was fifth in the mass start. With the relay she finished eighth, in the pursuit she was ninth like in the sprint, while she had her weakest result in the individual with 36th place.
Gregorin took part in the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi in all competitions, such as the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games . In the pursuit, she improved by twelve places and ended up in third place and thus won the bronze medal. She won the only biathlon medal for Slovenia at the 2014 Olympics .
doping
In October 2017, Gregorin was temporarily suspended by the IBU, the World Biathlon Federation, on suspicion of doping , as an illegal growth hormone (GHRP-2-M2) had been detected in three samples from the 2010 Winter Olympics, all of which were from Gregorin . In December, all placements at the 2010 Games were withdrawn by the IOC and the certificates received from Gregorin and the other starters of the Slovenian relay for the top 8 placements were reclaimed. Gregorin was banned from the IBU for two years.
