2015

The 18th IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships took place from August 20 to 24, 2014 in Tyumen , Russia . The medals were awarded in two individual disciplines for men and women as well as in a mixed relay on rollerskis . As in previous years, cross-country competitions were no longer held, and there were also no summer biathlon European championships in the year to which these competitions were previously relocated.

The most successful athlete was the Slovenian Teja Gregorin , who crowned her season with two titles in the individual races and a bronze medal with the relay after the climax of winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games . The most successful man with Ondřej Moravec was also a successful athlete at the Olympics. He won gold in the sprint and the relay. Michael Rösch won the first ever international biathlon medal for Belgium in the sprint with silver, and in the pursuit race he also won the first title by winning the gold medal. With two golds and one silver and one bronze each, Slovenia was the most successful nation both qualitatively and quantitatively. The women's sprint race had two winners, Gregorin and the Polish Krystyna Pałka , which was a novelty at the Summer World Championships . The Russian hosts, which are usually very successful at summer world championships, were completely without medals. They were only able to win several medals in the junior races.
