Jean-Guillaume Béatrix (born March 24, 1988 in Saint Priest ) is a former French biathlete .
Jean-Guillaume Béatrix lives in Autrans and for training in Andrevière . The married student started for US Autrans and was trained by Thierry Dusserre . He has been biathlon since 2003 and has been part of the French national team since 2005. Béatrix was already very successful as a junior athlete. Since 2005 he has been running in the junior European Biathlon Cup. He made his debut in Windischgarsten , where he was 56th in the sprint. In his third race, an individual in Ridnaun , he finished second. The highlight of the season was the European Junior Championships in Langdorf . Béatrix was unable to place in the top 20 in his individual races, but won the bronze medal with the relay alongside Alexis Bœuf , Arnaud Langel and Vincent Jay . The 2007 Junior World Championships in Martell were very successful for the French . If he finished 20th in the sprint, he finished seventh in the pursuit and won the bronze medal in the individual behind Łukasz Szczurek and Pavel Magazeew, as well as in the relay race with Martin Fourcade and Yann Guigonnet. The Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding the following year became even more successful . Béatrix won the individual title here, finished eighth in the sprint, fourth in the pursuit and fifth in the relay. He made it onto the podium five times in the Junior European Cup, but never won. At the roller ski competitions of the Junior World Championships in the summer biathlon in Haute-Maurienne , the Frenchman won bronze in the sprint, finished sixth in the pursuit and won the silver medal in the relay.
Béatrix contested his first race in the Biathlon World Cup at the end of the 2007/08 season at Holmenkollen in Oslo as a sprint 77. Since the following season the French competes regularly in the World Cup and was 87 in an individual in Östersund at the beginning of the season. In the following races he was able to improve constantly and won his first World Cup points in his fourth race in 25th place in a sprint race in Hochfilzen . In a sprint race in Hochfilzen in 2012 he achieved his first top ten placement and thus his best result to date, with a fourth place shared with Simon Schempp .
Béatrix is also successful nationally. In 2009 he won the title with the mixed relay. At the French Championships 2010 , Béatrix won the title in the super sprint and with the mixed relay.
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he won the bronze medal in the pursuit.
In the 2015/16 season he achieved his first World Cup victory in the Pokljuka mass start .
At the end of the 2017/18 season he ended his career as a professional athlete.
