Saint-Priest is a French city with 46,207 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the metropolitan area of Lyon . Administratively, it belongs to the Arrondissement Lyon and Métropole de Lyon in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The inhabitants of the place are called San-Priots or Priestois .

Saint-Priest is located in the southeastern suburb of Lyon and experienced rapid growth especially in the 1960s and 1970s (population 1962: 10,681, 1982: 42,677). The city is an important industrial location, including the headquarters and a truck plant of Renault Trucks (the former Berliet plant ) and the headquarters of the bus manufacturer Irisbus . Saint-Priest is also the terminus of the T2 line of the Lyon tram .

The German twin town of Saint-Priest is Mühlheim am Main near Frankfurt am Main . The partnership emerged on the edge of the longstanding partnership between the cities of Lyon and Frankfurt. Saint-Priest is also twinned with Arezzo in Italy .

Saint-Priest was part of the canton of Saint-Priest until 2015 .
