Longes is located about 30 kilometers south-southwest of Lyon and about 24 kilometers east-northeast of Saint-Étienne at the foot of Mont Pilat . Longes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tartaras in the north, Trèves in the north-east, Les Haies in the east, Condrieu in the south and south-east, La Chapelle-Villars in the south and south-east, Pavezin in the south-west, Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez in the west and south-west as well Châteauneuf to the west.
