Chambost-Longessaigne is a French municipality with 938 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lyon and the canton of L'Arbresle (until 2015: canton of Saint-Laurent-de-Chamousset ). The inhabitants are called Chambostiens .

Chambost-Longessaigne is located about 35 kilometers west of Lyon in the Monts du Lyonnais . The Loise flows through the community . Chambost-Longessaigne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Panissières in the north and north-west, Villechenève in the north-east, Longessaigne in the east, Saint-Clément-les-Places in the south-east, Saint-Martin-Lestra in the south and Essertines-en-Donzy in the west and south-west.
