Saint-Genis-les-Ollières is about eleven kilometers west of Lyon . Saint-Genis-les-Ollières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tassin-la-Demi-Lune in the north and east, Craponne in the south, Grézieu-la-Varenne in the west and south-west and Sainte-Consorce in the west and north-west.

history

Remains of a Gallo-Roman villa from the 2nd century BC indicate an early settlement. The name of the place appears for the first time in the 9th century.
