Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure is a French municipality with 6800 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure is located in the arrondissement of Lyon and is part of the canton of Genas . The inhabitants are called Murois .

Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure is about 15 kilometers east of Lyon. Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Genas in the north, Colombier-Saugnieu in the northeast (with Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport ), Saint-Laurent-de-Mure in the east, and Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu in the south and Saint-Priest to the west.
The A43 autoroute runs through the municipality .
