Jonage is a French municipality with 5903 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Métropole de Lyon in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure is located in the arrondissement of Lyon and was part of the canton of Meyzieu until 2015 . The inhabitants are called the Jonageois .
geography
Jonage is located about 20 kilometers east of Lyon on the Rhone on the border with the Ain department . Part of the municipality is occupied by the Grand parc de Miribel-Jonage . Jonage is surrounded by the neighboring communities Niévroz in the north, Jons in the east, Villette-d'Anthon in the east and south-east, Pusignan in the south and south-east, Meyzieu in the west and Thil in the north-west.
On the edge of the commune, the A432 autoroute leads directly to Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport .
economy
The construction company Vinci is currently building a new site for the biotechnological production of vaccines . The building with an area of 15,000 m² is part of a project with an investment sum of EUR 200 million. 13,000 m³ of concrete are used. The foundation stone was laid in September 2019 in the presence of Agriculture Minister Didier Guillaume .
