Saint-Germain-au-Mont- d'Or is a French commune with 3,085 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Métropole de Lyon in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lyon and until 2015 to the canton of Neuville-sur-Saône . The inhabitants are called Saint-Germinois .

Saint-Germain-au-Mont-d'Or is located about twelve kilometers north of the city center of Lyon on the western bank of the Saône . Saint-Germain-au-Mont-d'Or is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Quincieux in the north and north-west, Massieux in the north-east, Genay in the east, Neuville-sur-Saône in the east and south-east, Curis-au-Mont-d'Or in the South-east, Poleymieux-au-Mont-d'Or in the south and Chasselay in the west.
