Massieux is located about 16 kilometers north of Lyon on the Saône on the edge of the Dombes . Massieux is surrounded by the neighboring communities Parcieux in the north, Civrieux in the east and northeast, Genay in the south and southeast, Saint-Germain-au-Mont-d'Or in the southwest and Quincieux in the west.

The A46 autoroute runs through the municipality .
