Biziat is a French commune in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It borders on Laiz to the northwest , Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle to the north, Perrex to the northeast, Vonnas to the east, Saint-Julien-sur-Veyle to the southeast and Saint-André-d'Huiriat to the southwest . The residents call themselves Biziatis or Biziaties.

politics

On January 1, 2005, the parish joined the Communauté de communes des Bords de Veyle . This was replaced with effect from January 1, 2017 by the Communauté de communes du Canton de Pont de Veyle . Until the reorganization of the French cantons in 2015, Biziat belonged to the canton of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne and was then defeated to the canton Vonnas in the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse .
