Relevant is a French municipality with 463 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the canton of Villars-les-Dombes (until 2015: canton of Saint-Trivier-sur-Moignans ).

Relevant is located about 34 kilometers north-northeast of Lyon in the Dombes . Relevant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne in the north and north-east, Sandrans in the south and east, Saint-Trivier-sur-Moignans in the west and south-west and Baneins in the north-west.
