Pont-de-Vaux is a French commune with 2,258 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Replonges (until 2015: canton of Pont-de-Vaux ) in the Bourg-en-Bresse arrondissement .
geography
Pont-de-Vaux lies on the Saône and the Reyssouze river , which flows into the Saône here. The municipality is located in the west of the Bresse , about 45 kilometers northwest of Bourg-en-Bresse . Pont-de-Vaux is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Bénigne in the north and north-east, Gorrevod in the south and south-east, Reyssouze in the west and south, Fleurville in the west and north-west and Montbellet in the north-west.
