Saint-Didier-d'Aussiat is a French municipality with 871 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Attignat in the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse .

Saint-Didier-d'Aussiat is located at 200 m , about 16 km north-northwest of the prefecture of Bourg-en-Bresse , 17 km east of the city of Mâcon and 61 km north-northeast of the city of Lyon (as the crow flies). Saint-Didier-d'Aussiat extends in the southern part of the historical Bresse province . Neighboring municipalities of the municipality are Saint-Sulpice and Marsonnas in the north, Montrevel-en-Bresse in the east and northeast, Saint-Martin-le-Châtel in the east and southeast, Curtafond in the south and southeast, Confrançon in the south, Saint-Genis-sur- Menthon in the southwest and Bâgé-Dommartin in the west and northwest.

The first documentary mentions from the High Middle Ages can be found in 1096 with the name Ouciacum or Oncieux . The place is later mentioned as Arciacum (1266), Ouciaci or Auxiaci (1415 and 1444). The parish has been under the patronage of Saint-Didier since the 12th century . From 1793 to 2015, Saint-Didier-d'Aussiat was part of the canton of Montrevel-en-Bresse .
