geography
Jayat is located about 19 kilometers north-northwest of Bourg-en-Bresse and about 23 kilometers east-northeast of the city of Mâcon . Jayat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-sur-Reyssouze in the north, Lescheroux in the northeast, Foissiat in the east, Malafretaz in the southeast, Montrevel-en-Bresse in the south, Marsonnas in the southwest and Saint-Jean-sur-Reyssouze in the west and Northwest.
