Replonges is a French commune with 3,717 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in the department of Ain . Administratively, the municipality is assigned to the Arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the canton of Replonges . The inhabitants are called Replongeard (e) s .
geography
Replonges is in the Bresse countryside . The river Veyle borders the municipality to the south and then flows into the Saône , which borders the municipality to the west. Replonges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Feillens in the north, Bâgé-Dommartin in the northeast, Saint-André-de-Bâgé in the east, Crottet in the south and southeast, Saint-Laurent-sur-Saône in the west and Mâcon in the west and northwest.
The Autoroute A40 and Autoroute A406 as well as the former Routes nationales 79 (today's D1079) and 433 (today's D933) run through the municipality .
