geography

Laiz is located in the Bresse countryside about seven kilometers south-southeast of Mâcon and about 26 kilometers west-northwest of Bourg-en-Bresse . Laiz is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pont-de-Veyle in the north, Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle in the north and northeast, Biziat in the east and southeast, Saint-André-d'Huiriat in the south, and Cruzilles-lès-Mépillat in the south Southwest and Grièges in the west.
