Péronnas is a French municipality with 6385 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the canton of Bourg-en-Bresse-2 . The inhabitants are called Péronnassiens .

Péronnas is in the Bresse . Péronnas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bourg-en-Bresse in the north, Ceyzeriat in the northeast, Montagnat in the east, Certines in the southeast, Lent in the south, Saint-André-sur-Vieux-Jonc in the southwest, Saint-Rémy in the west and Saint- Denis-lès-Bourg in the north-west.
