Perrex is a French municipality with 838 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the canton Vonnas (until 2015: canton Pont-de-Veyle ). The inhabitants are called Perrexiens (also: Perrexois ).

Perrex is located in the Bresse countryside about twelve kilometers east-southeast of Mâcon and about 19 kilometers west-northwest of Bourg-en-Bresse . The Veyle and Menthon flow through the municipality . Perrex is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon in the north, Saint-Genis-sur-Menthon in the north-east, Mézériat in the east, Vonnas in the south, Biziat in the south-west and Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle in the north-west.
