Chanoz-Châtenay is a French municipality with 844 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the canton of Vonnas (until 2015: canton of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne ). The inhabitants are called Chanoziens .

Chanoz-Châtenay is located in the Bresse countryside about 15 kilometers west-southwest of Bourg-en-Bresse . Chanoz-Châtenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaveyriat in the north and east, Condeissiat in the south-east, Neuville-les-Dames in the south and Vonnas in the west and north-west.
