La Boisse is a French commune with 3,229 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse and the Canton of Miribel . The residents are called buissards .

La Boisse is located on the Sereine River . La Boisse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montluel in the north and northeast, Dagneux in the east, Niévroz in the south and southeast, Thil in the southwest, Beynost in the west and Tramoyes in the northwest.
The Autoroutes A42 and A432 as well as the former Route nationale 84 (today's D1084) run through the municipality . The station is on the Lyon – Genève railway line .
