The Autoroute A 432 (abbreviation: A 432 ) is a French motorway, the northeast of the metropolitan Lyon the ring road Rocade Est (A46) at Les Échets with the Lyon Saint-Exupéry and the Autoroute de la Murienne (A 43) at Saint -Laurent-de-Mure connects. It thus forms an extended eastern bypass along its entire length and is thus part of an imaginary third ring road from Lyon . In total, it has a length of 33.0 km.

The A 432 runs continuously in a south to south-easterly direction from Les Échets in the north of Lyon via La Boisse and Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport to Saint-Laurent-de-Mure, where it joins the A 43. From its start on the Rocade Est (A 46), it largely follows the route of the TGV high-speed line from Paris to Marseille .

At La Boisse it crosses the A 42 and offers connections to Strasbourg , Geneva and northern Italy .

meaning

As a regional feeder motorway, the A 432, with the completion of the connection to the A 46, is of particular importance as an alternative to the Rocade Est on the route from Paris to Turin and southern Italy . Since then, long-distance traffic in the north-east direction has effectively been able to bypass the Lyon conurbation in a wide arc.

Toll

For the A 432 there is only a toll on the northern section of the motorway junction at Les Échets and La Boisse. The southern section with the connection to the airport between the A 42 / A 432 motorway junction to the end of the motorway at the A 43 is free of charge. Two toll booths (French: peage ), one in La Boisse (driving south) and the other in Saint-Laurent-de-Mure (driving north), delimit this section.

history

The southern part of the A 432, which connects the A 42 with the A 43, began with the construction of two sections, each of which was to connect the two motorways to Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, and only with the closing of the gap between Pusignan and Poulieu Completed in 2003.

The construction of the northern part, which finally connects the Rocade Est (A 46) with the A 42, was completed in spring 2011 and opened to traffic on February 10th. This included the construction of the 1210 m long and up to 50 m high Viaduc de la Côtière (German: coastal viaduct ).
