history

Previous numbering

A section of the motorway between Nancy and Beaune was designated as the Autoroute A37 for the first time. The motorway ran for a total length of 244 km through the regions of Bourgogne , Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine . It was opened in 1974. In 1982 the motorway became part of Autobahn 31 .

Further planning

The A37 is a motorway project between Poligny and Besançon. Planning began in the 1990s. The total length of the motorway should be around 55 km, of which around 20 km should run parallel to the existing national road 83 . Since the project proved to be unprofitable in the first studies, it was excluded from the plans for implementation from public funds in 2002. However, the planning continued until the final abandonment in 2010.
