The Autoroute A 53 is a former French motorway , the first part of which between Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and the border with Italy was rededicated in 1968 as the A 8 motorway.
The second part of this motorway was between Roquevaire and Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume , which was rededicated in 1990 to the A 520 motorway or to the D560. This section was opened in 1980.
