The Autoroute A 510 was a planned French motorway to connect the cities of Cadarache and Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume . The approximately 30 km long road was planned to connect the Autobahn 51 (Marseille - Gap in the Durancetal) with La Provençale (A8) roughly along what is now Departmental Road 3 east of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire and should serve as an eastern link for Aix-en-Provence serve.
Planning history
The plans went back to 1992. After carrying out preliminary studies, construction costs of around 156 million euros were initially expected, of which 75 million euros should come from the state. The project was to be implemented within the framework of a concession . According to estimates, 80% of the total length of around 30 km should run in locally protected nature areas. By 2003, the estimated construction costs had risen to around 230 million euros. At this point in time, construction and commissioning were planned after 2020 and were dependent on a decision in favor of Autobahn 51 .
The project was not included in the preliminary draft of the Schéma national des infrastructures de transport (SNIT) in 2010.
